For a magical festive outing, we highly recommend The Snowman at the Peacock Theatre in London — a heartwarming, family‑friendly theatre production that’s ideal for children and adults alike. Based on the beloved Raymond Briggs story, this timeless tale comes to life on stage with dance, live music, and stunning visuals, including the iconic score featuring Walking in the Air. Performances run from 22 November 2025 to 4 January 2026, with a variety of matinee and evening shows, including relaxed and audio‑described performances suitable for all families.
Attending The Snowman is a fantastic way for young musicians to see how music, movement, and theatrical storytelling blend together in a professional production — inspiring them and nurturing their love of performance both on and off the stage.

We’re incredibly proud of our pupil Esther, who has gained a place in the National Children’s Orchestra (NCO) of Great Britain for the third year in a row—a truly outstanding achievement!
The NCO brings together some of the UK’s most talented young musicians and offers an exceptional experience through inspiring residential courses, high-level ensemble training, and the chance to perform in prestigious venues. Pupils work with world-class conductors and tutors, gaining invaluable orchestral experience from a young age.
The standard for audition and entry is high—but the experience is truly phenomenal. If you think your child may be ready for this exciting challenge, or would like support in preparing for an audition, please contact our Principal. We’d be delighted to help guide them through the process.
We absolutely love seeing the joy and excitement our pupils bring with them every week — the laughter, the chatter, the energy! It’s part of what makes The Excelsis School of Music such a vibrant and welcoming community.
However, we kindly ask all parents and carers to be mindful of noise levels when entering and exiting the building — especially when walking past the church downstairs, where Mass or prayer may be taking place.
Let’s respect the peaceful atmosphere for those in worship.
We also gently remind everyone to help keep the corridor areas calm and quiet while lessons are in progress. We know younger siblings can be full of energy, and we’re always happy to see them — just a little quiet encouragement goes a long way. Thank you so much for your continued support and understanding. Together, we create a nurturing and respectful space for every member of our musical family.
As we approach the halfway point of the Autumn Term, it’s been a joy to see the term in full swing—with pupils celebrating exam successes, preparing for the Royal Albert Hall, and embracing new opportunities both in and out of lessons.

We’ve really enjoyed introducing My Music Learning Journal over the past few weeks, and we’re thrilled with the positive feedback received from both parents and teachers.
Parents have shared that the journal has made it much easier to understand their child’s weekly homework and what they’re working on in lessons. Many have noticed that their child is more motivated to practise, thanks to the clear goals, star rewards, and the opportunity to reflect on their own progress.
Teachers have found the journal helps bring structure and focus to lessons, making it easier to plan and deliver more effective—and enjoyable—sessions. It’s already proving to be a valuable tool in connecting home and lesson time, and we look forward to building on this success in the term ahead. Please continue checking and signing the journal each week to help us maintain these positive results and support your child’s musical journey.
